ECI Company also provides Compliance Consulting Services to assist our customers with their Compliance needs. HIPAA and SOX both require or at least highly recommend using independant auditors/consultants to review and verify compliance against existing policies on an annual basis. In addition, one should also perform assessments of these polices and their associated procedures against the compliance standards for updates and/or changes due to ever changing business requirements, functions, roles and responsibilities.

HIPAA:

ECI Company has extensive experience performing HIPAA Assessments, PHI data flow/security analysis, Risk Assessments, Business Associate Assessments (including contract review), and reviewing policies/procedures. This consulting is often done as a preliminary analysis prior to implementing BlackAgent. BlackAgent is utilized to enforce defined policies/procedures regarding the protection of data stored inside databases. However, it only enforces compliance if the polices/procedures themselves create a structure that when enforced leads to a compliant environment.
